Since defeating Urien, things in Camelot have been peaceful...epic arguments between the King‘s Sorcerer and the King‘s sister not withstanding.

But today is one of the quieter days, in fact, everyone has the day off including the usually very busy King.

Arthur had taken this opportunity to spend time with the youngest of his sons, Prince Llacheu. Now aged nine months and the most mischevious baby you could imagine.

That probably has to do with the fact that this little prince has magic. It‘s not very powerful, but it is there and has been known to cause trouble, especially as of late.

So for these reasons and more, it‘s off to visit Auntie. Arthur hopes Morgana is ready.

The battle, such as it is, has been brutal and completely without honour much like Urien himself, but for once there was a break in the skirmishes.

Arthur leans back against a tree trunk and wipes his brow with a sigh of relief.

All around him knights are also sprawled on the ground trying to catch a few minutes rest while they can. Others are having their injuries tended to and somewhere he can hear Gwaine trying to keep everyone's spirits up with a drinking song, despite the fact there's no mead in sight.

Arthur can't sit still for long however, he's restless, wondering about Guinevere and the boys, he knows that they're fine, Morgana and Percival will protect them. That doesn't change the fact that he misses them so much it's in near constant ache, which at least distracts from the rather nasty gash on his shoulder.

All is not lost though, there are ways to communicate with those at Tintangel, even though they have to keep it to a minimum in case Urien happens to have sorcery on his side as well.

But it's been more than a week since they last spoke that's long enough to go without speaking...too long in Arthur's opinion.

He's quick to track down Merlin and even though he feels terrible asking his friend to do this when he's almost dead on his feet, the fire is soon flickering away.

Arthur peers into uncertainly and tentatively calls out. "Hello? Anyone there?"

He never knows how to start a conversation through this thing, it's bizarre!

It's good to be home, that's all I can say...although we've been back a few days now and things have had time to settle down. (I don't really feel like writing about the trip to the community... I've had a chance to speak with Gwaine about his hair care routine and give it a try myself. The results were really quite impressive.

What was also impressive...was the gift I made for Guinevere a thank God you and our child are safe gift.

I sent her a little notes over the last few days and got the boys to bring her to the western courtyard. I didn't actually know we had a western courtyard, it was overgrouwn, but I've turned it into a beautiful garden for her. Because...Guinevere loves flowers? I don't know really.

But to see the smile on her face, well, it's all worth it.

Yes, it was Amhar's birthday...his long awaited for sixth birthday.

Complete with a tournament and a celebratory feast.

Merlin outdid himself, of course.

The knights outdid themselves...

Everyone outdid themselves really!

I think Morgana enjoyed herself, I know her wards' did, lovely girls, Carys and Tarrwyn.

I'm not entirely sure how the other members of the magic community who came with Morgana made of it all. They were in the stands, but I wasn't really able to focus on them much. Quite a lot of bouts seeing as I made it to the final and won of course!

But yes, a wonderful day and one sure to live on in Amhar's memory.

And Guinevere is waiting for me...so...off I go.

Arthur had been thoroughly hurt by Guinevere's comments about his pratiness.

But he had to admit he'd been very pouty and had probably let it go on too long. His Queen hadn't kicked him out of their bedchamber, but she had been asleep (or pretending to be) when he finally came up for bed and he'd made sure to take up the least amount of space in their bed as possible.

Then when he woke this morning Guinevere had all ready been up.

The rest of the day had been a blur of meetings (there was Morgana to discuss and the birthday tournament and Arthur's meeting with Trefor and Seren) and Arthur hadn't seen her all day.

And now he was lonely, all by himself in the Round Table Room.

He traces the words on Guinevere place at the table and womders if he should seek her out and apologise...because he must have been a prat somehow.

Well, this week has been like none other since I was crowned. Firstly, Merlin has somehow managed to convince Morgana to return! He went out to find some magical people for a school he's decided to set up and the next thing I know I'm getting a message from him saying he's bringing her and several of her community back!

They arrived the afternoon before yesterday and Morgana immediately kneeled on stones, apparently as some act of penance. I hardly thought it necessary for her to kneel there for four hours until it was dark. If she catches a cold, well...I don't know, someone's going to be told off.

So really with all that going on you can't really blame me for snoring. Although I didn't really mean to wake Guinevere. I'm quite worried now....I must ask Merlin about fixing that...although that's rather hard to do when he's running around like he is. Although really as the King he should be at my beck and call. He never was a very good servant...

And now I've managed to stick my foot even further in it, with the tournament for Amhar's birthday. Of course I'm going to compete, I just didn't think it still bothered Guinevere so much. It's not as if I haven't won every other tournament I've been in. She knows this.

I hope she won't kick me out of bed this time...although I do like camping with Amhar and Duran....

And to think...just the other day my dear Queen was having fun with my sword.

Or so it would seem...

While waiting for Merlin to return from his mission, Arthur experiences two very strange events, although he won't remember them.

First there is the meeting with his father as a younger man - the new King of Camelot. And in all honesty a completely different man.

Later on he meets his mother, who is young, very, very young and betrothed to man she does not love and certain that his father, her future husband hasn't even noticed her.

Arthur's quite certain that isn't true.

But anything he learns here, he can't use...there will only be a niggling sensation that he should know something.

Which is really just annoying.

More busy than most!

Firstly, the good news, my Yuletide wish has come true, my beloved Guinevere told me on New Year's Eve that she is expecting a child! Which is rather amusing considering her declarations a few nights ago that two was quite enough.

She's happy though, so I'm quite sure she was just teasing me, she was certainly smiling as much as me when we told the boys yesterday. Although, I think that Amhar and Duran may have been the most excited! I didn't know you could jump that high on a bed...

Of course this means the announcement had to be made. I hate making announcements of this nature, I don't know why... I'm all right with all the other announcements, and it's not as if I'm not happy as Hell.

Still, it was done, the kingdom is happy and and so are we!

After delivering the grain to the halfway point, King Arthur has hurried back to Camelot with a gift that he hopes will placate his wife.

Upon his arrival at the castle he is met not by his Queen, but by his two sons.

"Father!" Amhar and Duran practically launch themselves at him! Fortunately, Arthur manages to catch them.

"Hello! You two are up late."

"We wanted to be here to see you." Amhar says planting a kiss on his cheek.

"We need you!" Duran adds.

"Oh?" Arthur raises an eyebrow.

"A Dragon's got Mother!" Duran continues dramatically.

Arthur's other eyebrow rises. "A Dragon?"

"She's in the tower!" Amhar tells him. "We can lead you there, but you'll have to save her!"

Arthur shares a look with Leon, who merely shrugs and laughs.

"Well, if I'm the only one." Arthur straightens his shoulders, but before he goes on he removes his gift from where he's placed it in his belt. "However, I need you two to look after this, it's very important."

Amhar immediately takes the gift in hand. "We will, Father. Now let's go, you can't keep Mother waiting!"

They're running a bit late, but Arthur and Sir Leon, who make quite an odd picture in a large cart rather than on horseback as befitting knights.

But they're not in their armour and aside from their swords are unarmed.

Arthur is looking at the map. "All right, this should be the place..." Looks up and around.

Leon sighs. "Forgive me, sire, but direction is not your strong suit."

"Hey!"

Before anything else can be said, though, there is a sound ahead.

Could it be?

Morgana's unexpected return to Camelot had lead to a bit of an arguement between the Royal Couple of Camelot.

The King was sent to the nursery to sleep, and being the King, he figured he'd make the best of it and with the young princes it turned out to be a fun-filled evening indeed!

When Queen Guinevere rises early in the morning and goes to check on her boys, she'll find them and her husband camping on the nursery floor.

( It could melt the hardest heart, and Guinevere's heart is not hard. )

It's scenes like this that make the servants of the Royal household declare that falling out's between the King and Queen will not last long.

"My Queen needs her midnight kiss."

There is another aspect of the Nexus which Arthur hasn't encountered before. (Or has he?)

But today, searching for his sons, he stumbles upon it. And will have no memory of the place, except for a nagging question that can't be answered.

A strange room if there ever was one...

So strange book, we meet again.

Merlin informed me he found you lurking in the library once again, ready to be used. And I suppose I could use the multiverse's assistance. Not that I thought reconcilling with the magical people of Camelot and beyond would be easier.

But I thought after six years we would be futher than this.

So, journal, take me to that strange place...I'm King now, so you really need to do as I order.
